Which 3-IN-ONE should you buy?

Since 1894. Cleans, lubricates, protects. Now in three nozzles.

3-IN-ONE has been selling the same promise since 1894: cleans, lubricates and prevents rust. The little oil can is still the one in most kitchen drawers, and it is budget-priced across the whole range.

The brand now sells task-specific versions too. The Garage Door Lubricant and Lock Dry Lube are both PTFE-based and dry without attracting dust, which is exactly what you want in a track or a keyway and exactly what the classic oil will not do.

Asked and answered

3-IN-ONE questions

3-IN-ONE or Tri-Flow?

Our head-to-head verdict: Tri-Flow for performance, 3-IN-ONE for simplicity and tradition.

Should I use 3-IN-ONE oil in a lock?

Use the Lock Dry Lube instead. A wet oil attracts dirt into the pins; the dry PTFE formula does not. Our Houdini vs 3-IN-ONE Lock Lube verdict: both work well, Houdini for frozen locks, 3-IN-ONE for regular maintenance.

Is 3-IN-ONE good for garage doors?

The Professional Garage Door Lubricant is, and it made our best garage door lubricant list. The classic multi-purpose oil is the wrong product for tracks because it stays wet.
